Management Approaches
100% plants in Taiwan and Mainland China obtained ISO 50001 certification, and the implementation is currently underway at RMC plants and Operation Headquarters
|
Targets
Improve energy productivity by 50% by 2040 relative to a 2016 baseline year
Taiwan’s first large-size manufacturer to join EP100 in July 2022

◤ | In 2020, TCC proactively applied to EPA Taiwan for formulating the Product Category Rules (PCRs) for cement products and obtained the Carbon Footprint Label from EPA Taiwan |
◤ | In 2021, the carbon footprint of bagged cement by the Suao and Hoping Plant was verified as a reduction of 11% and 5.5% respectively and obtained the Carbon Reduction Label from EPA Taiwan. TCC thus became the first cement company with products labeled with the “green footprint” in Taiwan |
◤ | In 2022, 4000/5000/6000 psi concrete obtained carbon footprint label and plans to the carbon reduction label verification. In 2023, the verification to green building label is underway |
◤ | Normally, buildings have a life span of 50-70 years. The UHPC as a building material can extend it to 100-120 years, which reduces building reconstruction and avoids construction wastes generated in the interest of carbon reduction target |
◤ | TCC Low-Carbon UHPC Center is currently under construction and expected to commence trial operations in July 2023. The center aims to produce high-quality, low-carbon materials |
◤ | Application: TCC DAKA Renewable Resource Recycling Center, TUO Tower, UHPC Energy Storage Cabinet, artwork, etc |
◤ | Debris after building demolition and the one recovered from the RMC plants: Research by the Low-carbon R&D Center. Aside from using Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM) as a substitute for backfilling material, it can also be utilized as coarse aggregate in non-structural parts of buildings. Also, the Center conducts planning for the recycling equipment and the hardened cement paste sent to cement sites as alternative materials |
◤ | Concrete debris: Reused as the building materials and floor tiles of TCC plants as well as the car bumpers and sod at charging stations to live up to the ideas of carbon reduction and eco-friendliness |
